On 12 April, 2017 Access to Information (A2I) program and Bangladesh Press Institute (PIB) jointly organized a view-exchanging meeting with senior Journalist on the ‘Progress of Digital Bangladesh’ at the conference room of PIB, presided over by Golam Sarwar, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PIB and editor of Daily Somokal. Kabir Bin Anwar, Director General (Administration) of Prime Minister’s Office and Project Director of a2i programme and Md. Manzurur Rahman, Additional Secretary (Administration) of the Ministry of Information were present as a special guest.
Golam Sarwar, stated that ‘a2i programme of Prime minister’s office has been playing a silent role to attain the goal of ‘’Digital Bangladesh’’. The country is moving forward through simplification and digitalization of services. The media must play a vital role to enhance the involvement of people’s with information and technology and increasing their participation in different activities undertaken by a2i programme.
Kabir Bin Anwar, Director General (Administration) of Prime Minister’s Office and Project Director of a2i programme stated that the activities of a2I Programme are spreading everywhere including agriculture, education, health, information and land ministry. In addition to creating transparency, accountability in the different sectors of the government as well as creating opportunities for the public for getting services within short time, and low cost.
