On 23-24 April, 2017 a two-day workshop on “Human Development Media for Information Officers” was organized at CIRDAP auditorium by the joint initiative of Access to Information (a2i) Programme of Prime Minister’s Office and Directorate of Mass Communication (DMC). This workshop was organized in the context of public awareness campaigns and human resources development programs by displaying different programs of Human Development Media.
Hasanul Haq Inu, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Information was present as a chief guest and addresses welcome speech. He stated that, the information officers to contribute to the development of human resources by disseminating the information of government’s development initiatives to the doorsteps of common people.
He said information officers and media can play a vital role to help develop the human resources by creating a bridge between the government and the common people. “Education and better healthcare are prerequisite to the development of human resources. The government has taken different initiatives including ten special initiatives for enhancing the living standard of people to develop skilled manpower,”
Martuza Ahmed, Secretary, Ministry of Information joined the function as special guest. He appreciated the ongoing work of the information workers in the development of human resources, said that supply of compact and suitable vehicles and information center under construction in every district will make their work more dynamic. It is vital to increase the capability of the information officers to accelerate the target of the government-Vision 2021 and 2041 and sustainable development. He also stressed the need for training of information officers to create publicity material in ‘Human Development Media’.
