The Copenhagen Consensus Center through its Bangladesh Priorities project has been working for over a year to identify, analyze and prioritize interventions that will deliver greater benefit per taka spent, helping move Bangladesh towards Vision 2021 and a more prosperous long-term future.
On May 8th 2016 at an event hosted by a2i at the Prime Minister’s Office, Nobel laureate economist Professor Finn E. Kydland and Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, President of Copenhagen Consensus Center, named one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world for his approach to researching the smartest ways to do social good, made keynote presentations about the future potential of the ICT sector in Bangladesh as a critical contributor to the nation’s development.
Their research finds improving the process to streamline international migration through the Union Digital Centres (UDCs) could generate Tk. 22 of good for every taka spent. And digitizing the land records system would provide an incredible Tk. 619 of benefits per taka spent.
