Social Good Summit 2016 was celebrated on Wednesday, September 07, 2016 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building of Dhaka University jointly organized by Access to Information (a2i) Program of Prime Minister’s Office, UNDP Bangladesh and Dhaka University. State Minister of Post and Telecommunications Ministry, Advocate Tarana Halim was the chief guest at the program. The special guests in the event included the the Honorable Secretary of Cabinet Division (Coordination & Reform) N M Zeaul Alam, the Country Director of UNDP Bangladesh Nick Beresford and the Chairman of Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, University of Dhaka Mr. Mofizur Rahman. The program was chaired by the honorable VC of the University of Dhaka Dr. A A M S Arefin Siddique.
Bangladesh has organized the Social Good Summit 2016 for the fourth time alongside other member countries of the UN putting forth the slogan, “Connecting today, creating tomorrow.” The aim of the program was to ensure social development and justice by identifying on public demands and grievances and creating awareness through new media and social communication networks. The summit was organized on behalf of UN Foundation to mark significant contribution in defining public friendly policies particularly on the eve of UN General Assembly.
