BDT 1 crore worth Challenge Fund launched to stop child marriage and prevent early school dropout of girl child

Short Description:

On 18 August 2016 in Karabi Hall at the Prime Minister’s Office, a challenge fund has been launched in joint collaboration of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA), the Access to Information (a2i) Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Plan International Bangladesh. The Honorable State Minister of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Ms. Meher Afroz Chumki, M.P was present as the Chief Guest in the launching ceremony. Also present as special guests in the program were the Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office Mr. K M Ali Azam, Director General of the Governance Innovation Unit of the Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Md. Abdul Halim, Country Director of Plan International Bangladesh Ms. Senait Gebregziabher, and Country Director (ad interim) of UNDP Bangladesh Mr. Khurshid Alam. The program was chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Ms. Nasima Begum ndc.
