On the 10th of November 2016, a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between a2i and the British Council. The purpose of this MoU is to establish a framework of cooperation between the British Council and a2i to improve education, skills development, online education platform, digital library etc. These initiatives will be structured into certain mutually-agreed responsibilities.
Under this MoU British Council and a2i will work collaboratively on innovative products and methodologies to promote English language teaching and learning; capacity development of teachers, students, entrepreneurs; initiatives to develop a collaborative online education platform; collaboration in organizing national and international educational events; access to UK qualifications through Union Digital Centres (UDC), and supports in the implementation of Libraries Unlimited project.
This MoU also aims to introduce a CBT (computer based online/offline and Face to Face training) programme to enable a quick development of English language skills for the aforementioned groups and other skills training courses which will equip young people with skills for employability (i.e. communication, ICT, Leadership, problem solving, critical thinking etc.).
The MoU Signing Ceremony held at Prime Minister’s Office. Mr. Kabir Bin Anwar, Project Director of a2i and Ms. Barbara Wickham, Director, British Council signed the MoU on behalf of the organizations. Colleagues from British Council Ms. Mairi Mitchell (Assistant Director Programmes), Ms. Gaynor Evans (Head of English), Mr. Deep Adhikari (Director Examinations), and Ms. Masuda Khatoon (Project Manager) also were present in the MoU signing ceremony.
